Features of landscape from North Yorkshire, North Wales and Warwickshire where the artist has lived and worked throughout his life provide additional strands of imagery that have become a constant source of inspiration. Early years and education in North Yorkshire inform the expression of undulating landscapes accompanied by a later familiarity with the more dramatic hills of North Wales and the gentler contours of Central England. The significant impact of atmosphere and variable climatic conditions on these landscapes continue to be uppermost in Malcolm’s current work.
